Neon OTI

Taking Part in Open to Interpretation. Here is the inspiration pic:

And my take:

Lace Shirt: Target $2.38 with coupon
Tank: Forever 21 $3
Skirt: Old Navy, old
Bracelet: Macy's
Cage Sandals: Marshalls $25

Can't get enough of fashion challenges and link-ups! So much fun to get creative with my closet and force myself to decide on clothing and wear them! This shirt is a new purchase...probably just last Friday so it's making its way out of my closet a lot faster than usual. I'm really loving neon this season so I'm just gonna go with it...

I wore my personalized necklace again so I'm going to add it to my participation this week for  #StyleMeSmartly quote:
"What was about to happen would change Audrey's life forever"

Luxe for Less

Vest: Michael Kors via Ross $20
Sash: free with dress
Necklace: Kohls
Leggings: JCPenney
Boots: Kohls

This might be my newest favorite deal! I was so excited when I found this vest even if it was a little big for me. It works out though because I like it even better styled with the sash. I love the subtle striping and the non-typical non-Rachel Zoe color.

I'm hosting wear*it wednesday this week.
Here's the other faux fur girl:

Loving Rebekah's colors and gloves, but mostly I want that vest!

Thanks for stopping by!

Scaredy Spice

Sweater: JCPenney, free with coupon
Shirt: Target, free with coupon
Necklace: Target
Leggings: JCPenney $5
Earrings: c/o ShopLately

Up for discussion:
1.  For the last day of
Freckles in April's Winter Challenge
, we are supposed to wear something that we are scared of. I took a very literal approach with my spider necklace. I can also say that I used to stray away from wearing eyeshadow for fear of the wrong application, but now I just wear it regardless.
2. I continue to gravitate towards shades of turquoise and teal as shown in my earrings. They have a very boho, slightly peacock vibe and I love that they aren't too heavy. They were a last minute, but perfect complement to my outfit.
3. So proud that I remembered a detailed picture this time!

Thanks for stopping by!

ShopLately did provide the earrings to me, but my thoughts

Greeny Tweedy

Shirt: old school
Tweed skirt: Loft, really old
Boots: Kohls
Bracelet: Target $1

Another outfit that I haven't worn in forever! I love this skirt and even
had someone come up to me at the gas station to ask where I got it. This outfit
was inspired by Kayla's Open to Interpretation challenge. Here's the inspiration pic:

I was planning on wearing peep toes, but it was too cold. My camel cardi didn't look as
cute with the outfit and I forgot all about my color-blocked purse.
I'm still happy I was reunited with my tweed skirt though!

Mellow Yellow

Coat: Marshalls $20
Dress: JCPenney
Necklace: Kohls

The challenge today was to "dress up a coat"
for
Freckles in April's Winter Challenge.  So I fancied up my hair-do and did a twist in the back. It did not cross my mind to take a pic of my twist, but then again,
I'm not the expert fashion blogger.  I do try to remember to do more detail shots, but sometimes
I'm just trying to get one good pic in while 1) dealing with the cold and 2) making sure the
photog is not late to school.  This time, my lovely mom was my photographer so

it was fun to get her involved in my new hobby.

Did you check out the other outfits?

Loving Neon

Dress: Marshalls $7
Purse: gifted from mr. shopfreak
Necklace: Torrid, free with bday coupon
Shoes: Madden girls $24 via Marshalls

I'm so loving this purse :)
I'm not usually a neon type of girl, but you can't beat how unique and BRIGHT it is.
I bought it for myself as a bday present from mr. shopfreak. It's wasn't too expensive
so I'll be on the lookout for more to add to my present. He still owes me a Christmas present and Valentine's day is around the corner so I'm excited for all the splurging to come!

The challenge today was to "brights" for
Freckles in April's Winter Challenge. How much brighter can I get?

Going Southwest

Dress: Forever 21 $
Scarf: Rue 21
Belt: Old Navy
Bracelets: Target and Claires
Boots: Mervyns

The challenge today was to dress from a region for
Freckles in April's Winter Challenge. My first thought was to do a Cali girl, but since
it's too cold to do summerwear, I went with this.  The scarf and belt have a southwest vibe and
I like how my neutral dress plays up those elements.

Pattern Play

Shirt: Target $3?
Scarf: Target $3
Cardigan: Ross, old school
Skirt: Forever 21 $6
Bracelet: Target $1

Yay! Day 4 of Freckles in April's Winter Challenge. It's fun to plan out my outfits
and the weather has been cooperating so more posts on my blog!

Today's challenge: mixing patterns was new to me before
I started blogging, but now it's one of my favorites!
Done right, it's interesting and fun.

Do you have a favorite pic to share of pattern mixing?

Obsessed with Python

Sweater dress: Ross $8
Earrings: Old Navy <$3
Python Cuff:  c/o ShopLately

I am obsessed with animal print, most especially python this season. Even though you can't find green python in nature, you can find it in my closet.. I also have a yellow python purse AND sandals. I'm equal opportunity here :)

I love how bold this cuff is, I built my whole outfit around it. I like to keep the outfit simple and feature one item at a time. I used a plain black purse as well so that all you really notice is:
GREEN PYTHON!

Are you an animal print wearer?

Since my outfit was all black, I'm  using this as my monochrome outfit for
Freckles in April's Winter Challenge.

ShopLately provided the cuff to me, but did not force feed the enthusiasm.

Layer upon Layer

Striped shirt: Ralph Lauren circa 1988
Blue shirt: Target, free with coupons
Vest: JC Penney
Jeans: Forever 21 $15
 Boots: Target $6

This is my "layered" outfit for the first day of
Freckles in April's Winter Challenge. I first started blogging with Kayla's first challenge
in August so it's fun to participate with my winter wear. Hopefully it will help me find more outfits in my closet, just like last time.

Freckles in April

Here is my new shorter 'do. I like my longer hair better, but oh well, it will grow. Since I was running out of outfits to post, there are going to be some pics pre-haircut.

Do you do fashion challenges?

RAWR

Dress: H&M $15
Necklace: H&M $15
Belt: Freebie with a different dress
Shoes: BCBGirls via Ross $20

I saw this dress on Pinterest and posted it to my wishlist board. When I checked it out at H&M,  I happened to find the necklace also and I love how both look together.

For this last day of the Fashion Challenge, we are showcasing our favorite fall trend which for me is animal print. I've had this obsession with it for a couple of years now.  Love leopard, zebra, python, & even giraffe print for its graphic, bold, yet neutral look.
An extra bonus is that it always elicits a "roar" from mr. shopfreak, too :)

Don't Call it a Comeback

Dress: JC Penney? <$5
Necklace: Vera Wang, Kohls
Shoes: Madden Girl via Marshalls $24
Bracelets: Kohls and Charlotte Russe

You'll be seeing a lot more of my caged sandals now. A lot of my recent outfits happen to look better with them and its been months that I've worn them. There's no rhyme or reason to the peaks and valleys of my wardrobe wearing...now I'm just documenting it.

I'm taking part in the Fashion Challenge this week. This is my "Fall Brights" post..

Stripe Lover

Shirt: Target $3
Jeans: Target Free with coupon (was $5 on clearance)
Boots: Sway $20
Purse: Nine West, DSW $20

Another member of my striped clothing family. I tend to buy lots of summer clothing since it's my favorite season, but I've been making the conscious effort to
pick up cuter winter clothes.

This is my "stripes" post in the Fashion Challenge this week.

Skirt: American Apparel $6
Necklace: Torrid (free in 2010 with birthday credit)
Bracelet: Cookie Lee

So I was in the market for a blazer until I remembered that I had some blazers in my closet from my interviewing days. Good thing this one actually fit pretty good!
Saved myself some money, yay!
