Bead necklace: Mervyns
Leggings: Forever 21
Socks: Claires $1

Striped necklace? I'm in!

Dress: Marshalls $8
Cardi: Target
Purse: Sway
Sandals: Steve Madden

Necklace: c/o Ace Commune

I had been admiring Ace Commune's jewelry and was so excited when they had told me to watch my mail. This pretty necklace was a fun surprise and I love how the black and white beads create stripes. Since I am addicted to stripes, I played that up in my outfit choice. I also brought in the blue and yellow through the rest of the look. This whole outfit was inspired by the necklace and I love how outfit inspiration can come from anywhere,
even from the smallest of details.
I may not have put this outfit together without it so I'm also happy to be remixing this look from my existing wardrobe. Be sure to check out the rest of Ace Commune's line: loving the simple, beachy and boho quality, especially all the tasseled pieces.
You can also follow their Facebook feed.

The winner of the arrowhead necklace is Tiffany!
Please check your email and respond within 48 hours before I choose another winner.

(I received complimentary product from Ace Commune
but all opinions are my own.

Off White bangle: free, Baublebar rewards program
      Purse: JCPenney

Fave shopping time: Forever 21 BOGO!

      Dress: Forever 21 $3.50
      Necklace: c/o ShopLately
Orange Bracelet: Stella & Dot Lindsay

I'm getting so much use of this necklace, I love it! Another comfy striped t-shirt dress from  the Forever 21 BOGO (buy one get one free sale). I cannot resist those sales! My store seems to bring out more and more stuff so I always have to check back to see what's new. I try to remember to hold out from buying anything there because I've found almost everything that I want will end up on the sale rack.

      Blazin'

      Blazer: c/o eShakti (similar)
      Shirt: old
      Necklace: Kohls
      Jeans: Target

I was so honored when eShakti contacted me to do a review and was even more excited when I was able to choose anything I wanted from the site. I would typically choose a dress over anything else, but I loved how this blazer looked on other bloggers. So smart that they've linked to past blogger reviews because it makes such a difference seeing an item on someone other than a model or a dress form.  I'll have to suggest that they take their idea one step further and link the reviews to the product page.

My favorite feature at eShakti is the option to customize based on your measurements and preferences. I have a hard time ordering online, especially when there isn't a brick and mortar store to be able to return the item to. Since I was able to add in my measurements to my order, there were no worries. It fit me perfectly!

      Blue Ikat

      Dress: TJMaxx $5
      Necklace: c/o ShopLately
      Flip Flops: Payless

I bought this dress last summer and I'm still loving the color and the print. Buying clearance at the end of the season does have the risk of not liking it in the future so I'm really trying to be more selective in my buys. It's hard when I find good deals though!

      Falling for Animal Print

Even though I'm a summer girl,  I'm looking forward to Fall again this year so I can get more use out of my warm wardrobe. I'm hoping to post more outfits with the layered look of sweaters, skirts, tights, leggings and boots. It's not quite cold enough for a full layered outfit right now, but here are a couple of animal print inspired Fall looks.                                                 I am still addicted to animal print!

      Bracelet: BaubleBar
      Leopard Boots: Fashion Bug

Shirt: Macy's Skirt: Old Navy, old
      Tights: c/o No nonsense
      Boots: Fashion Bug

I love the "deep burgundy" opaque tights they sent since it is the color of the season.
Since it's such a bold color, I wanted to highlight it with a palette of just black and white. The tights were light, but still opaque and so comfortable.
Need to go get some more colors!

Check out all the colors in this video from Jill Martin,
co-author of “I Have Nothing to Wear!”

Love that No nonsense are so affordable and you can grab them just about anywhere while you are doing your other errands around town.

      Out of Heavy Rotation

      Dress: ?, Walmart brand
      Necklace: Kohls

Before I started blogging, this was one of those sundresses that I would wear multiple times over the course of the summer. I still love it, but it's out of heavy rotation now. Wearing more things out of my closet is probably my favorite part of blogging. I now choose outfits based on 1) whether it's been blogged or not and
2)if I want to take pictures that day. It's a whole different mindset.

The blogger in me also had to add the necklace, so that the outfit is a little more special :)

My mission this summer was to find an orange statement necklace so when I found this one, I snatched it up real quick! It's so pretty paired with gold! Even better, I won the Stella & Dot bangle that I can wear with it.

      A Grenade for you..

      Shirt: Marshalls $7
      Cargo pants: Ross?
      Wedges: Kohls
      Necklace: Thrifted $6

I was so excited to find this necklace and stalked it for awhile because I thought it was pricey at $12 at a thrift shop. I waited until the end of the month and was excited to find that no one had picked it up during the 50% off day. Maybe because it was pretty heavy. It is inscribed with the word "India" on the clasp so I'm sure I won't be finding anything like it soon. It's so unique and I wanted to extend the whole grenade vibe by wearing military inspired clothing.

      A Vintage Statement

      Dress: Forever 21, old
      Necklace: c/o ShopLately
      Sandals: Payless $5, old
      Photographer: my BFF

I ordered this necklace because it looked vintage to me, but I could also see wearing it with boho outfits. This time, I wanted to wear a simple dress to highlight the necklace.
       It's so pretty!

This one is for the retro challenge for #StyleMeJuly and linked up to YOLO Monday.

      101 Black Dresses

      Dress: Charlotte Russe,, $5, 2011
Necklace: Coldwater Creek, free with coupon (was $11)
      Pearl Earrings: gift from work
      Bracelet: JCPenney, old
      Shoes: Old Navy

"Her closet was filled with black dresses"
My last installment in the #StyleMeSmartly challenge. I enjoyed it again this time and I'm hoping another fashion challenge pops up for July.

I've decided a while ago to curtail the purchases of black dresses because this quote fully pertains to me. This is one of my fave black dresses though because I'm crushing on full skirts these days. The back is lovely because it's open except for 2 bows. So cute to look at, but hard to wear. I wore this to work with a tank under and a white cardi over.

I did a re-fashion on my necklace. Re-fashion is blogger talk for alteration, as I have gathered. At time of purchase, this necklace has two of the white cords, so as is, the bottom of this necklace would hit waist-level. Not cute. So I added a jump ring to one side and hook the clasp to that.  It's still a little long so I tied a knot in the back that's hidden under my hair. The other white cord will be re-fashioned into a bracelet when I get to it. I bought this necklace awhile back, but paid out of pocket for it. Since I have too many necklaces these days,  I returned it and rebought it months later when Coldwater Creek sent me a coupon for $25! Love them!
I got the coupon just because I'm just a regular ole customer too!
