Perfect Short Sweater Weather

Sweater: Forever 21
Skirt; Forever 21 $5
Necklace: Opaque Lion c/o ShopLately
Shoes: Ross, old

Rings: c/o Anci Decor

It was the perfect weather for this short sleeve sweater so I had to take advantage of it and wear this outfit that I've been planning for a long time. The houndstooth is navy and is goes perfect with the mustard sweater. Since I was going to be in the office all day, I was able to wear heels, too.

I'm so excited to have be sharing these Anci Decor rings with you as well. I'm usually not  a ring person except for my wedding and engagement rings. I'm always worried that I'll lose a ring after taking them off to wash my hands. Since these rings are brass, I was assured that I could keep them on all day.  I asked for the personalization on the first ring and was surprised to find that I had requested my old initials from before I was married. It's actually an even better reminder of my past life. The "Love Life" sentiment on the second statement ring reminds me to be thankful of all that my current life holds.

Product Spotlight: DressV Little Black Cocktail Dresses

We were recently invited to celebrate our nephew's big 21st birthday celebration in
Las Vegas so I wanted to start checking out some cute dress options. Thought I'd focus on some little black cocktail dresses since you can't go wrong with the LBD. It's always good to have a variety of options in your closet.  You could always change the look with different colored clutches, high heels and pashminas to keep warm at night.

I like this asymmetrical look for a dinner look. I'd wear it with a big colorful statement necklace. Since one side has a sleeve, I'd probably go without a jacket.

Another one-shouldered option: I like this neckline with an updo so
that you can see shape of the dress.

Lastly, I found this sparkly dress. Since it is Vegas, it's the best time to go all out and wear a fun dress. I love the look of high heels, but if I'm going out, I want to wear comfortable, but cute heels so I can dance. I'm not a stiletto kinda girl.

The last time we went to Vegas, we met up with the family right after flying in and even though I had brought cute dresses for every night, I figured that I wouldn't change to meet them at the bar. We showed up underdressed and I wished I had worn something more
exciting. I'm not going to pass up a chance to get dressed up this time. :)

Printed Spring Dress

Dress: H&M $7 or less
Belt: JCPenney
Earrings: ShopLately

Bracelet c/o Charmedseed Studios

This long sleeve dress was perfect for 70 degree weather.
I have this chart in my mind for dressing for the weather:
60 degrees= pants/sweaters
70 degrees= long sleeves
80 degrees= short sleeves
90+ degrees= tanks

The boho feel of this dress was perfect for this personalized bracelet handmade by
Charmedseed Studios. I love the distressed look and as always, anything that is customized. The bracelet has the mix of soft and hard with the metal and it has a copper finish that goes well with all the rose gold jewelry I was wearing. I love their "Wordspell" line, especially if you want a daily reminder of a phrase or special name.

This winner of the $30 Stella & Dot gift certificate is Karen C!
Please check your email and respond within 48 hours before I choose another winner.

Queen of Hearts

c/o Persun $20

I already had a heart print shirt that I had worn the week of Valentine's day, but since I didn't like the fit anymore, I picked up this shirt instead.  International shipping usually takes long, but this shirt was worth the wait. I love the burgundy color and print. The collar is a silky fabric and not quite the exact color of the matte heart print, and I wasn't too fond of the tabbed shoulders, but my long hair hid both. I folded the sleeves once and pulled them to 3/4th length. This shirt is a large so I always have to check the measurement and use a metric conversion tool when ordering from international stores.

Product Spotlight: DressV Prom Dresses 2014

Here's another product spotlight, this time on DressV long dresses, since we are seeing so many gowns on the red carpet for all the award shows. For those who are beyond their high school prom years, I thought I'd find options that would be good for any fancy event: cruise formal nights, anniversary parties, black tie weddings and your Real Housewives opening segment. Why not play online dress up?  Here's some cute pink options:

Loving this floral one with the sparkly strapless top. The ruching would be forgiving and the sheer skirt is perfect for wind blown poses (so very Beyonce and Melissa Gorga :)
Since it's a print, I'd keep the accessories simple: some dangly earrings because of the bustline, strappy sandals and a clutch.

Due to the pleating, here's another easy dress to wear. I'd add in a crystal statement necklace and some tall printed leopard heels and a sparkly clutch.  I say go with an up-do, because you might as well go all out!

Long gown events are so few and far between in our lives that whenever there is a chance to get dressed up, take advantage of it! If the event is fancy enough for a ball gown, then wear a ball gown, especially on your wedding day!

The Sardinia + Giveaway!

Shirt: TjMaxx $15
Cardi: Wet Seal $5
Pants: Old Navy, old

Sardinia Necklace: Stella & Dot $98, c/o Lena Garmo, Independent Stylist

Sardinia Necklace: Stella & Dot $98, c/o Lena Garmo, Independent Stylist

I'm loving this Sardinia necklace, especially how versatile it is with the detachable pendant. It has such a romantic feel especially when it was pictured with white lace. I wanted to keep it the outfit simple and stay with a white top, but I chose a sparkly, sequin shirt that would enhance the necklace.  In the second picture, I added in a neutral leopard print for interest.

Thanks to Stella & Dot Stylist Lena Garmo, one of you have a chance at a $30 gift certificate to her website! (See rafflecopter below).

For those of you who don't want to wait for a chance at the prize, you can go ahead and order what you'd like at my online trunk show.  Stella & Dot always has some great statement necklaces, perfect for adding to your spring wardrobe. I love how jewelry can easily change up a simple outfit and bring more mixing options to what you already have.

Product Spotlight: DressV Short Bridesmaids Dresses

I'm a little bit of a hoarder when it comes to dresses. One of my biggest fashion pet peeves is having to find the perfect dress for a special occasion when you are on a time constraint. I hate the pressure of having to find something to wear for a specific event because it always leads to overpaying for something that I'm just not in love with. I would much rather buy a dress I love and have a couple of options available in my closet for the next event. Here's a few short dresses from DressV:

This is  a good option for a baptism or family event since it is more covered up and slightly demure. I like the lace overlay and the sparkly belt. An updo is the perfect way to highlight the lace at the neckline and the skirt has enough fullness to feel comfortable even after dinner and dessert.

I like this dress for an outdoor wedding. Loving the color combination and the pop of color with the ribbon belt. The layered bodice makes it special and the full skirt is flattering and brings attention to your waist. Add in a sweet white lacy cardi and it can be dressed down for more events.

I'm liking this blue strapless instead of the little black dress for an anniversary dinner or cruise formal night, especially because of the intricate folding along the top.
