Crazy Sock Day

Sweater: Ross, old
Shirt: Old Navy
Olive Necklace: Handmade by me
Bead necklace: Mervyns
Leggings: Forever 21
Socks: Claires $1
Boots: Mervyns

mr. shopfreak asked me if it was crazy sock day because of the striped fair-isle looking socks I was wearing. I planned my whole outfit around the socks, so fun to have such a little thing bring creativity to my closet.

Winter Lace

Sweater: Old Navy
Leggings: Forever21
Boots: old
Purse: Michael Kors

Boot socks: c/o Qutees

Loving my cute little lace boot socks! I planned my whole outfit around them. There were a few other color options, but I figured that the white socks would be most versatile.
(The picture in the link look like they are a browner beige color, but they are a winter white)
They will look cute with skirts and dresses when it's a little warmer, too.
Very soft and plenty long enough to wear with my boots. They would probably stretch to about an inch longer than I'm wearing them and would probably work with my over the knee boots too. So cute!

(I received this product for free, but all my opinions are an honest review of the item)

Embroidered Transitional Dress

Dress: c/o A'Muse Me Boutique
(Also available here: ShopLately)
Boots: Ross

I'm loving the ornate embroidery in this dress from A'Muse Me Boutique. The colors are so pretty and it's detailed enough to forgo a necklace. The dress is light with lace along the top back. It's the perfect transitional dress. Cute with tall boots for now (and in the fall) and it will look good with some brown gladiator sandals and a boho straw hat for the summer.

but all opinions are my own.

Winter Boot Picks from Tidestore

Since winter is in full swing and I'm starting to have to plan for colder weather, I thought I'd focus on boots. I used to be all about tall, heeled boots to wear with skirts, but now I like short, flat boots the best. Check out my picks for boots to add to your winter wardrobe. Let's start with some basic short, flat boots that I'm loving from Tidestore:

Just add a warm scarf and a cute motorcycle jacket
and you're good to go.

Snow Bunny

Sweater: Mango $5
Jeans: Forever 21?
Boots: on loan

I'm all about comfy big sweaters for winter. Especially after two meals at Tahoe buffets plus a winter full of flavored coffees.

On Loan

Plaid Shirt: Land's End, free with Swagbucks rewards
Sweater: Macy's, old
Purse: Target
Leggings
Boots: on loan from my SIL

So glad mr. shopfreak raided his parent's house over the holidays to grab us some snow boots. These ones are on loan from my sister-in-law and I love the rugged quality. I wore them all weekend in Tahoe and might just have to snatch them out of storage to wear a couple more times this winter.

Chevron Remix

Shirt: Rue 21, last year
Scarf: Target
Leggings: Forever 21
Boots: Ross

So I was feeling so over anything chevron and didn't think I'd be wearing this tunic again because it felt too trendy. I wasn't happy with the open mandarin collar, but by remixing this top with the red scarf, it looks so much better. Because it's long, it's perfect to wear with leggings and it's a good basic for the winter with different scarves.
Just goes to show that you just can't give up on your clothes :)

Mustard Lover

Shirt: Charlotte Russe
Leggings: Forever 21
Boots, old

Chevron Infinity Scarf: c/o Grace's Boutique
(Also available through ShopLately:
New members signing up through Facebook can save $5 by using my link!)

I'm so into mustard yellow these days so I couldn't pass up the chance to pick up this scarf.  I wearing it shorter this time around, but you can also untwist it to hang below your waist.  It's so soft, light and love the shade of yellow that pops against all my winter neutrals.

I've contacted the winners of the Accessoria giveaway,
check your emails and please respond within 48 hours!

Tribal Clutch

Dress: Ross, old
Boots: Ross, $19

Clutch: c/o Ai Fashion Group

How great is this tribal clutch? The clutch came in burgundy or mint, but I chose the black version mostly because it was the boldest pattern. It will go with everything and it even has a gold chain crossbody strap so I don't lose it. I've bought woven purses in the past, but after using them over the course of the summer, the straw would break and it would be the end of the purse. I have high hopes for this clutch because the weave is tight and encased by metal along the edges. Plus, since it is a clutch, I'll probably save it for date nights and fancier occasions.

So Cozy

Sweater: American Eagle via Marshalls, 2011, $15
Shirt: Target
Jeans: Forever 21
Boots: Mervyns, old

I always feel like I don't have enough cute winter wear so this sweater was added to the collection last year.  I mostly like that it was cozy, warm, and had a unique collar/wrap look.

Missoni-esque

Dress: Ross, old
Boots: Mervyns, old
Purse: Michael Kors via Macy's, gifted
Earrings: Stella & Dot Renegade, retired

This was my Thanksgiving outfit and a couple of my designer-informed aunts asked if it was Missoni. I wanted to wear something warm, dressy and comfy so this sweater dress was perfect.

Nerd Wear

Sweater: Target $5 2011
Jeans: Target, free with coupon
Boots: Mervyns, therefore old! $10
Glasses: c/o Firmoo
Necklace: Gold Stella & Dot On the Mark (Available in Silver)

I received my new glasses today so I wanted to go nerdy. I really only need to wear glasses when I drive at night so I don't usually wear glasses in my outfit pics.

Firmoo contacted me to try out their website and offered any pair of glasses to review.
I loved being able to upload a picture and "try out" the glasses first. I was able to find 8 frames that I liked and took a very unscientific survey within my household
to pick the winner.

I chose these brown frames based solely on how my uploaded picture looked.  Then all I had to do was add in my prescription information. I was a little hesistant to order glasses online, but the glasses look exactly how they look on my uploaded photo. If you'd like to try it out yourself, Firmoo offers the first pair of glasses for free!
You just have to pay for shipping.

Here's a pic of how my glasses arrived. It included a hard shell case, a drawstring bag, eyeglass cloth, a mini screwdriver and 2 screws.

Thanks Firmoo!

Falling for Animal Print

Even though I'm a summer girl,  I'm looking forward to Fall again this year so I can get more use out of my warm wardrobe. I'm hoping to post more outfits with the layered look of sweaters, skirts, tights, leggings and boots. It's not quite cold enough for a full layered outfit right now, but here are a couple of animal print inspired Fall looks.                                                 I am still addicted to animal print!

Top: Walmart
Leggings: c/o No nonsense
Necklace: Kohls
Bracelet: BaubleBar
Leopard Boots: Fashion Bug

Shirt: Macy's Skirt: Old Navy, old
Tights: c/o No nonsense
Boots: Fashion Bug

I love the "deep burgundy" opaque tights they sent since it is the color of the season.
Since it's such a bold color, I wanted to highlight it with a palette of just black and white. The tights were light, but still opaque and so comfortable.
Need to go get some more colors!

Check out all the colors in this video from Jill Martin,
co-author of “I Have Nothing to Wear!”

Love that No nonsense are so affordable and you can grab them just about anywhere while you are doing your other errands around town.

Luxe for Less

Vest: Michael Kors via Ross $20
Sash: free with dress
Necklace: Kohls
Leggings: JCPenney
Boots: Kohls

This might be my newest favorite deal! I was so excited when I found this vest even if it was a little big for me. It works out though because I like it even better styled with the sash. I love the subtle striping and the non-typical non-Rachel Zoe color.

I'm hosting wear*it wednesday this week.
Here's the other faux fur girl:

Loving Rebekah's colors and gloves, but mostly I want that vest!

Thanks for stopping by!
