So glad mr. shopfreak raided his parent's house over the holidays to grab us some snow boots. These ones are on loan from my sister-in-law and I love the rugged quality. I wore them all weekend in Tahoe and might just have to snatch them out of storage to wear a couple more times this winter.

Homeward Bound

Another of my travel friendly maxi dresses. Ok, so the length isn't always the best for walking around, but on the train ride there isn't much walking to be done.

 I usually tie up the bottom for any icky ground that I come across..

For this outfit again, my lovely $5 clearance statement necklace makes the outfit soo cute. 

I love price scanners in stores now, because I'm always checking unmarked items in case they are on super-sale like this necklace.

This outfit started with the dress and I added the belt for needed color. I had plans to wear the hat all day (except for driving), but I forgot about it and only really wore it for the pic. 

I should have done a detail pic to show how cute it is with the stripes and gold band around the top. I was just looking at a sun hat again today at TJ Maxx, even though I have more than enough. It reminds me of vacation and the beach so I am drawn to them...

1) Gold satchel: I really tried to pass on this satchel, because it would be my 3rd in this style and my third gold purse. I actually did leave it on the shelf for  a couple of visits to Target, but after I bought a smaller mint version, I realized that I really wanted this one so I traded it in. 

2) Forest green skirt: I was loving this color around Christmastime so I was happy to find it on BOGO clearance!

My inspiration for this outfit was my grecian necklace. I love the look of the leaves and how it pairs so nicely with the purple and my bracelets. I wore this dress also to celebrate my anniversary with mr. shopfreak.

I thought I'd go blue in honor of Election Day. We took our girls to see voting in action so we all got to sport "I Voted" stickers afterwards. I love how many polling places are offering "I Voted" stickers in different languages!

Beach Towns

My favorite part of Southern California is most definitely the beach. I just love the view and the feeling of being on vacation. We walked around Carlsbad Village after spending a day on the beach further south. I love spending time in beach towns, having clam chowder and fried calamari. Hopefully one day, I'll live by the beach again...

This was the first day of our trip to Southern California to end our summer. We usually plan vacation to coincide with our wedding anniversary and mr. shopfreak's birthday, but this time, the kids were going back to school early. I usually have a hard enough time packing for a trip, but now even more planning (and indecision) is involved. I take into consideration: 

1) weather 2) activity and now: 3) outfits that have not been blogged. I'm all about different backgrounds for my outfit pics so vacations are the perfect time to bring out outfits that haven't been photographed. 

So this wonderful background is the Peet's Coffee in Valencia. 

Sometimes a picture is better than none at all. 

I promise, the next few backgrounds will be better :)

My Zara store is about an hour away and so whenever I'm there and there is a sale, I kinda feel the pressure to come home with something. Not rational, not ideal, but it happens :)

Good thing I love my impulse buy... the embroidery is so pretty and it has that indigenous, tribal-y feel I'm attracted to. This one kinda reminds me of Hawaiian quilts. This whole outfit makes me happy: embroidery, orange and gold! Love!

Even though I've OD'd on striped clothing lately, I couldn't say no to this yellow version.

 I think it was one of those forced buys because of Forever 21's buy one get one free clearance. I just can't pass them up!

So true, especially if you are a bargain shopper like me!

It's already fall, but I still have outfits I haven't posted so I'm trying to catch up. 
I love this batik, tribal print and the ruffles.  This dress is enough of a statement on its own, without any accessories.  Its easy, comfortable and cute, can't beat that!
