Another of my travel friendly maxi dresses. Ok, so the length isn't always the best for walking around, but on the train ride there isn't much walking to be done.

 I usually tie up the bottom for any icky ground that I come across..

For this outfit again, my lovely $5 clearance statement necklace makes the outfit soo cute. 

I love price scanners in stores now, because I'm always checking unmarked items in case they are on super-sale like this necklace.

So excited to share this necklace with you! Sticking with my favorite statement necklace look with this Da Madre Terra necklace.  I love the color and how each stone is unique because it is made of natural flourite. I chose the sterling silver metal chain to highlight the color of the stones. The thin chain disappears so that your eye focuses specifically on the flourite.

I wore the turquoise dress as a contrast to the purple. I wanted to keep it simple to highlight the necklace. I love that the necklace is light and won't bother me after wearing it all day.

Wedding Honeymoon

We traveled to a wedding on our weekend alone and I finally wore this dress that's been in my closet for soooo long! I was pretty ho hum about this dress long after I bought it, but I love how the outfit turned out.  The accessories really make the outfit and I even matched mr. shopfreak, who wore a brown suit and beige striped tie. 

Vacation-Bound

We took the train sans kids to So Cal so I wanted to be comfortable and ready for cooler weather at our destination. A maxi is perfect for hotter weather and then I added a light cardigan for the end of our train ride. The ride took one and a half hours longer than a car ride, but we watched two movies in that time so it went by fast.

When I was contacted by Blue Avocado & Open Arms to feature this tote on my blog, 

I was so honored. I was especially happy to see that the cute tote is made from upcycled fabric and is handmade by such inspiring women.  I'm happy to support such a worthy cause so stop by their website to learn more in their video.

The tote was even cuter than expected: I love the chevron and the colorful printed stripe that also lines the inside of the bag. To mimic the skinny navy braided strips on the tote and the handles, I wore a braid as well.

Hi Lo, Hi Lo, it's off to breakfast I go! I really wore this outfit to our fave breakfast place because I needed to take pictures of this outfit. 
A wee bit over-dressed for the family diner, but oh well..
Even better, I wore it afterwards to organize the garage and 
change the air filters in the house..
I lead such a glamorous life. 

Aren't you loving this organic shaped necklace? It is bold, light and versatile since you can use both sides! I chose this dress specifically to showcase the necklace. mr. shopfreak really liked the hi-lo look last summer and bought this dress for me as part of our anniversary gift. I love when he buys me clothing because then I'll know for sure that he'll like my outfit. I've been meaning to wear this dress 
especially because the trend is phasing out. 

The best part about accessories is that they make the outfit even better! I usually don't wear this high of wedges, but I couldn't pass these animal print shoes at 50% off clearance. (I forgot to take detailed pictures of the shoes, but trust me, 
they are CUTE! and high)

Our staff appreciation lunch was a cowboy-themed shin-dig so tried to follow the theme with the chambray. We had a graduation that night and while I usually dress up more, I wanted to be theme appropriate and wear comfortable shoes. 

Loving this dress more and more..it was a good clearance buy...
